I love working with variety of people in a team and continually looking for ways to make things truly better. I always following up on what is happening around me and that’s includes inside organizations as well as inside industries as a whole.
From January 2019 to July 2020 to elected I was elected Chairman of Middle Management Committe for a Group Of Companies (Tanzania Leaf Tobacco Co. LTD, TLTC and Tanzania Tobacco Processors LTD, TTPL), reporting direct to the Managing Director.
As a newly elected chairman my first task was to motivate members by drafting a business case that acted as framework towards achieving operational excellence across the group of companies in Financial Year 2019-20. Then I facilitated and provided a platform on which members and even non-members could develop a mindset and behaviours that embraced continuous improvement attitude.
It is during my tenure when any employee who doesn’t supervise anyone directly but who even without strict organization authority affect and influence business operations were invited to the management committee sessions. The scope of being excellent was to have better, faster and cheaper operations.
- Better
Safety HE & reliability (near zero downtime) for factory operations
Quality from agronomy, factory to shipping
User experience from Engineering, IT, HR to Finance - Faster
Processing
Green Logistics
Dry shipping - Cheaper
To operate
To process
To third-part to process
Eventually the committee managed to align company’s strategic priorities within all functions especially at lower levels of the company and achieved company goals.
